The Brewers jumped on the Dodgers and Yoshinobu Yamamoto early Monday night, and a 7-4 Game 2 win gives Milwaukee a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams have historically gone 8-51 when trailing 2-0 in the League Championship Series. The Brewers will get a night off before the series shifts to Los Angeles on Wednesday for Game 3.
In the late game, the Guardians waited out Rays starter Drew Rasmussen, then went on an offensive clinic against the bullpen for a 7-3 win in Game 1 of the ALCS.
To reach the Championship Series, the Dodgers eliminated the Braves, the Brewers beat the Padres, the Rays knocked out the Yankees, and the Guardians escaped the White Sox. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were eliminated in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
